Caution
Cocamidopropyl Betaine (CAPB) is a mixture of organic compounds derived from coconut oil. It is available as a viscous pale-yellow solution and is used as a medium-strength amphoteric surfactant in personal care products. It is highly water soluble in a wide pH range and produces a thick lather, making the products feel creamier. Lathering helps loosen the dirt and impurities making it easy to rinse them off. CAPB is mild, gentle and well-tolerated by the skin and is used in foaming products for people with sensitive skin. Since it is essentially a synthetic fatty acid made from coconuts, it exhibits moisturising properties.
