Used in hard, self-polishing floor wax. Micro Crystalline Wax is used in laminating paper and foils as well as for polishes. It polishes to a glass clear, smooth, non-sticky finish.
Uses
It is used in skincare and cosmetics for improving the viscosity and improving the texture of the final products.
Benefits
• Thick and tough
• Has good flexibility and elasticity
Usage Rate
The usage for this product depends on the nature of the formulation, thus there is no exact recommended concentration.
Strengths
Microcrystalline waxes are tougher, more flexible and generally higher in melting point than paraffin wax.
Caution
Micro Crystalline Wax is a type of wax that is used in skincare and cosmetic products to thicken and improve the texture and consistency of the formulations.
Microcrystalline wax (or amorphous wax) is a refined mixture of solid, saturated aliphatic hydrocarbons, and produced by de-oiling certain fractions from the petroleum refining process. It appears a white to coloured, opaque, odourless and malleable product. It does not emulsify easily but may be modified with a catalyst to produce an oxidised, emulsifiable form.
