Caution
Decyl Glucoside, also known as decyl alcohol or demayol, is a plant-derived fatty alcohol that is generated by hydrogenolysis of the fatty acid extracted from coconuts or palm kernel oils. It is a mild and gentle surfactant and because it does not dry the skin it is ideal for the formulation of personal hygiene and toiletry products. This non-ionic surfactant is used as a mild cleanser that is also suitable for sensitive skin, and all skin and hair types.
Due to its excellent foaming capacity and skin-friendly nature, Decyl Glucoside is a desirable co-surfactant or base-surfactant in many cleansing products.
